I used to eat this cake when i was in my hometown in orissa and always i wish to make it. after watching ur this preparation, i will definitely make and taste it. thanks
Great, I've always wanted to make that Puri panir cake. Myself, I would mix the baking powder with the semolina so it gets distributed better.
Thanks Gayatri for the great podo pitha recipe. In Orissa they cook in a traditional way and I guess they use some dty leaf (Instriaku) to bake it which add some flavor to it. How many gallons/litres of milk required for 500gms Chenna? Did anyone try this from store available Ricotta cheese ? Thanks
Hi gayatri....This is not the oriya podo pitha .................the recipe is more closer to oriya chenna poda(literal transalation:burnt cheescake). In the US, ricotta cheese can also be substituted for these recipe....
If Butter paper is put it is easier to remove the cake from the tin. You may try without butter paper, by greasing the tin also. I always use butter paper
butter paper is a must or just greasing the tin with butter will b fine??
I am thankful to you for sharing such a great recipe. I will try this very soon! :0)
Thanks Gayathrigaaru.. for a very delicious vegetarian cake !
it is a kind of baked cheesecake. but in the usual cheesecake other soft cheeses are used and not paneer. this one seems to be really yummy. will definitely try it. thanx!!
I am not aware of Cheesecakes. The one which I have shown in video is prepared from Indian Cottage Cheese and is an ancient sweet prepared in Orissa. It may or may not be a variation of the Cheesecakes which you are refering
is this like cheesecake?
